This
is a picture of a house I found on the side of the road
during a mission trip in July. The family that lives here
is extremely poor. This house is made only out of sugar
cane. It has no protection from the weather and has only
a small section that is used for the bedroom of the parents
and two children.
This is
a good example of the types of families I am ministering
to in Somotillo, Nicaragua. There are no jobs there, so
families survive on pennies a day if that.
When we
arrived, this family had not had any food in several days.
The husband was out working trying to earn all that he
could but had not returned to his wife and children.
This specific
region of Nicaragua is about 3 hours from the capital
and is currently not being reached for Christ. There are
over 300 villages in this area and to my knowledge only
about 80 - 90 are being helped in any way.
It is
my dream to help these families find ways to become self
sufficient. They have a lot of pride and want to work;
they just don't have the resources to do so. In helping
these families become self sufficient it allows me the
opportunity to show them the love of Christ and how much
more he wants to bless them. Building relationships, builds
trust, which in turn builds the Kingdom.
